snow fall

Norsk Word Of The Day: “Snørås”, Meaning: (Snow) Avalanche

We know the rules, momentum is equal to mass multiplied by speed (p=mv), heh.  Apparently it’s a myth that shouting can trigger a “snørås” but I wouldn’t tempt fate. Freaky events avalanches are, Canada has a whole site dedicated to them, which you can find here, &  they’ve been spotted on Mars too now, by NASA.

“You’re my big distraction, my favorite attraction, I’m falling fast, like an avalanche…” – No Doubt

an online community (geographically based in Canada) I joined a few months ago, dedicated to giving youth, or the upcoming generation perhaps rather, a place to voice their concerns globally, as well as become aware of several other ongoing issues in our world

was born 100 years ago today (in Ontario, Canada)

“I have managed most of my life to exclude religious speculation from my mode of thought. I’ve found that, on the whole, it adds very little to economics.”
– from What I’ve Learned in Esquire in January 2002

Canadian Bacon

a semi-worthy watch

a film from 1995, I watched this movie last night, & found some of it terribly ironic in retrospect, considering current events & politics in the USA

a few of my favorite lines from it:

“well I’m not going to start a war just to, just to increase my popularity” (Alan Alda as the President of the USA)

“what about, you know international terrorism?” (Alan Alda as President of the USA) “well, sir we’re  not going to re-open missile factories just to fight some creeps running around and exploding rental cars, are we sir?” (Rip Torn as a General)
